‘Sooner, Rather Than Later’ – Former Hull City Man Delivers Tim Walter Message Exclusive to OTT

Former Hull City man Ray Parlour believes the club acted harshly in dismissing manager Liam Rosenior last season, and that only piles pressure on the current incumbent.
Tim Walter in the new man in the hotseat, and he’s already having to answer some tough questions. The Tigers have opened the season poorly, with three draws from their opening three fixtures. Those points have come against two struggling sides in Millwall and Plymouth, as well as Bristol City.
That has put early pressure on Walter, and having seen one dismissal in the Championship already; Parlour believes Walter needs to see improvement ‘sooner, rather than later’.
“It was harsh to dismiss Liam Rosenior, who I thought did a very good job at Hull City. He came across really well, and the team had progressed year on year,” said Parlour, speaking exclusively to On The Terraces courtesy of NetBet Sports Betting.
“For Tim Walter, he has been backed in the transfer market, so sooner rather than later, Hull City will need to pick up wins and look to be in with a shout of challenging for the play-offs. I believe Walter will know himself of the consequences as well that the pressure will be on, if results don’t come and performance aren’t good.”
The expectation won’t just be coming from the stands – former Arsenal midfielder Parlour also believes the ambitious owner, Acun Ilıcalı, wants to get to the Premier League, which makes the season’s opening a little tougher to take.
“The Owner is obviously ambitious and wants to get to the Premier League, so has been busy in the transfer market. Let’s see what happens, I hope Hull do have a good season and challenge.”
Things won’t get any easier for the Tigers this weekend, as they face a daunting trip to Leeds United, something considered to be a local derby, with just 60 miles between the two.
51-year-old Parlour spent the bulk of his career with Arsenal, leaving for Middlesbrough after 12 years in North London. He finished his professional career with the Tigers, making 15 appearances in 2007.
